The Master and Margarita, Mikhail Bulgakov’s twentieth century masterpiece and inspiration for the Rolling Stones’ classic “Sympathy for the Devil,” is a fantastical tale about the swirling chaos and nefarious dealings that follow Satan on a visit to 1930s Moscow. As wild as it sounds, that story is infinitely more believable than the notion that the Los Angeles Angels don't actually play in the city of Anaheim, or that baseball’s heavenly host will be appreciably better off moving as many as half a dozen veterans before what could be an Armageddon-esque trade deadline.
