Mark Melancon (RHP, ARI) has had an interesting start to his tenure with the Diamondbacks. He largely performed as expected to begin the campaign, allowing only one earned run across his first eight innings. He was then placed on the COVID-19 injured list. Since returning May 6, he’s allowed blown up in three separate outings – combining to allow 10 runs (nine earned) across 3.2 frames. Melancon received the vote of confidence from manager Torey Lovullo, converted a save, and then suffered from an implosion Saturday against the Cubs.
