Once thought to be an area of strength for COL, the outfield has become suddenly thin with the preseason trade of Corey Dickerson (OF, TAM) and recent DL trip for Charlie Blackmon (OF, COL). Blackmon's DL stint was chronicled on April 15 in Playing Time Today, where columnist Rob Carroll suggested Ryan Raburn (OF, COL) and Ben Paulsen (1B, COL) would be the direct beneficiaries. Paulsen has since seen the majority of time vs. RHP with Raburn—who mashed a 185 PX vs. LHP in 151 AB last season—facing southpaws. The club also has Brandon Barnes (OF, COL) as a bench option, but his swing-and-miss game and shaky 2015 BPIs suggest he's no more than a band-aid solution.
