As was noted in this space last week, Mickey Gasper fell victim to the numbers crunch despite his torrid stretch when he was demoted on August 31; however, he made a quick return, being called up a day later for first base duties when Willson Contreras landed on the IL. Gasper’s torrid stretch has continued since he returned, as he added three more homers to his season ledger. His output since his mid-August promotion (.347/.529/.918 in 68 PA) has brought his season line in the majors to .276/.387/.500 in 187 PA.
