Because of both health and performance issues, the Braves’ starting rotation is facing a bit of a crunch right now. Kyle Wright (RHP, ATL) is battling arm fatigue and has had his regular turn pushed back by a few days at least. Max Fried (LHP, ATL) hopes to return from the 7-day Concussion IL to start against NYM on August 18 or faces HOU over the weekend. Beyond filling in for Maximus, however, the question of who the 5th starter should be down the stretch is open to debate.
