Carlos Pérez's (C, LAA) offensive slide and a Geovany Soto injury opened the door, and suddenly Jett Bandy (C, LAA) is running through it. Bandy has always made more authoritative contact than Perez, though a career .265/.337/.422 with 42 HR over 1470 minor league AB pointed to a #2 catcher ceiling. But now coming off of a career-best .291/.347/.466 line with 11 HR in 309 AB at Triple-A in 2015, Bandy's .288/.349/.505 mark after 111 AB in Anaheim is making us take notice.
