While it might be dangerous to put too much stock in spring training lineups, it feels like Toronto manager Charlie Montoyo could be dropping a few breadcrumbs that may end up having fantasy implications.

For one thing, Cavan Biggio (3B, TOR) has tended to appear in the lower half of the lineup. For example, in a March 11 lineup that appeared to be a reasonable facsimile of what Toronto might trot out on Opening Day—absent Lourdes Gurriel (OF, TOR)—Biggio was slotted seventh.

If such a batting order position persisted over a full season, it could tamp down Biggio’s counting stats. Some analysts have also theorized that Biggio may be among the players most affected by MLB’s plan to use more a 5-percent-more “dead” ball...
