AL Central: The rise and fall of Davis Martin

This would have seemed unthinkable back in May, but it might be time to wonder if Davis Martin's rotation spot is in jeopardy. Since June 1, over 12 starts, he's posted a 6.83 ERA and 1.73 WHIP while watching his K-BB% crater to 5%. For one of those starts, August 4 against the Red Sox, it was discovered that he was tipping his pitches (9 ER, 3 HR over 5 IP), but even if we set that start aside, he still has a 5.90 ERA since June 1. Prior to that, during April and May, he posted a 2.00 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 22% K-BB% over 11 starts.

What went wrong for Davis? Just about everything. His control, which has long been a plus skill for him, has faltered, as he's gone from a 5% BB% and 33% Ball% prior to June 1 to a 9% BB% and...
