NL West: Veen finally get his Rockies audition

Over the last couple of months, we have repeatedly wondered in this space (see the June 27th NL West PT Tomorrow, among others) when Zac Veen would finally get his call up to the majors, and the day is finally here.
Since being recalled from AAA Albuquerque on Tuesday, August 11th, the team has played only one game (the Rockies had no Thursday game this week), with Veen stepping in against righty Ryan Feltner and batting in the 7-hole. His results on day one were fairly indicative of what we might hope from the Rockies’ no. 11 prospect (according to BHQ organizational rankings): He went 1 of 3 with a homer and collected 2 RBI.
