A couple of hot weeks have helped Kevin Pillar (OF, TOR) ascend to the top of the Blue Jays order.

If the additional plate appearances stick — and, with no natural leadoff hitter to be found in Toronto, there is no reason they shouldn’t — Pillar may be able to meet or exceed his 2015 production, which was worth $24 in a 12-team 5x5 league.

Now 28, Pillar has been hitting the ball as hard as he has in his career in the early season (116 HctX), adding to the reasons for optimism.

Moreover, this preseason, Pillar reported having played much of 2016 with a torn thumb ligament, one of those spring rumblings that should generally be viewed with skepticism, at least until the evidence begins to back up the player’s claim. Yet...
