Through the season’s first week, the tally was: Jake Diekman (LHP, BOS), one; Hansel Robles (RHP, BOS), one; Matt Barnes (RHP, BOS), zero.
Moreover, Alex Cora has not exactly been the epitome of candor in terms of addressing the urgency of restoring Barnes to the closer role in which he thrived in the first half of the 2021 season, earning not only an All-Star nod but a fairly lucrative contract extension.
