NEWS: Chicago reinstated RHP Kyle Hendricks from the 15-day IL and optioned 3B/2B Nick Madrigal to AAA-Iowa.

BHQ SPIN: We had already been projecting Hendricks’ return to Chicago’s rotation following the demotion of Hayden Wesneski, so no further PT% adjustments are necessary at this time. The more surprising aspect of Hendricks’ activation was the corresponding move as Madrigal, who had been filling a part-time role with most of his starts coming at third base, was demoted. With Madrigal out of the picture, Patrick Wisdom is expected to retain the bulk of the playing time at third base, with Miles Mastrobuoni occasionally mixing in against right-handed starters.
