Mariners shelve struggling Raleigh

NEWS: Seattle placed C Cal Raleigh on the 10-day IL and recalled C Jhonny Pereda from AAA-Tacoma.

BHQ SPIN: Raleigh had been dealing with some oblique issues and now hits the IL with a strained oblique. Raleigh’s start to 2026 has been a far cry from his historic 2025. He was batting .162 (.179 HQ xBA) with seven home runs and was in quite a funk leading to his IL stint. No timetable has been set for his return, but oblique injuries are usually a minimum of a month IL stay. To replace Raleigh at catcher, we will be looking at a mix of C Mitch Garver and Pereda. Garver has not yet shown much in the hit department this year either with a .176 BA, but did hit his first HR of the season on May...
