NEWS: Baltimore placed 2B Jackson Holliday on the 10-Day IL.
IMPACT: Medium
BHQ SPIN: Before Wednesday’s game, Baltimore placed Holliday on the IL due to left wrist inflammation. Holliday’s IL stint was backdated to Tuesday, so he will be eligible to return for the team’s final series of the season; however, it’s currently unclear whether a return will be realistic. For as long as Holliday is sidelined, Jeremiah Jackson should pick up the bulk of playing time at second base for Baltimore. José Barrero, who was promoted in a corresponding move, will serve as extra infield depth and could also pick up occasional opportunities at second base.
