RELIEVERS: NL East—first look at 2014

This week we examine the NL East relievers with an eye toward 2014, starting in Atlanta.

Atlanta may have the best closer in baseball with Craig Kimbrel (RHP, ATL, pictured). And the Braves pen is very deep with strong talent, using Jordan Walden (RHP, ATL) and David Carpenter (RHP, ATL) in setup from the right side, and Scott Downs (LHP, ATL) and Luis Avilán (LHP, ATL) in setup from the left side. Skills:

ATL SV IP DOM CMD HR/9 xERA G/F BPV
=================  == ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ===== ===
Kimbrel            40 51.3 13.7  4.6  0.5 2.23 41/33 185
