RELIEVERS: 2023 Gambles

This column focuses on gambles, the inverse of sleepers, relievers who have shaky skill sets and could lose saves as a result. Let's start with the Twins where Jhoan Duran (RHP, MIN) is so great that they have him in a "highest leverage reliever" role and intend to let Jorge López (RHP, MIN) handle the saves. In fact, they traded four minor league pitchers to get López for this purpose. López was an All-Star in 2022 and racked up 19 saves in 44 games with a 1.68 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 54 strikeouts against 17 walks in 48.1 innings with the Orioles. So why is he on this list? Here are the projections for 2023:
