Here are some bullpens with different save-chance choices from the past month worth noting for your stretch run. This is pure desperation time for speculating on saves—if you need them, you take what you can and pray things work out. There are not enough innings left in a reliever to predict ERA/WHIP. Better skills mean better odds, but you get what you get from here. This column is aimed at usage and save chances.
Starting with the Chicago Cubs, who have been on a run and picked up flamethrower Ryan Zeferjahn (RHP, CHC) at the deadline. But this past week, all three save chances went to Jacob Webb (RHP, CHC). And Webb's been ok:
| CHC | Sv | L7 Sv | IP | xERA | xERA' | WHIP | K% | K-BB% | HR/9 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Webb, Jacob | 4 | 3 | 12.1 | 2.79 | 3.46 | 0.73 | 27% | 20% | 0.0 |
| Zeferjahn, Ryan | 2 | 0 | 12.1 | 2.85 | 3.46 | 1.22 |
