Arizona, Kansas City, Miami, Seattle and Tampa Bay pen usage

Different teams have different usage patterns. While some teams rely more on their starters for innings, others have started to shift to greater and greater reliance on relievers. This has created a wider variety at the back end of game scenarios and it's important to figure out what each team is trying to do, whether it's working, and what changes might occur when it's not.

Let's take a look at the Arizona Diamondbacks. So far, they have split saves evenly between lefty A.J. Puk (LHP, ARI) and righty Justin Martinez (RHP, ARI) with two saves apiece. Here is what we have to-date:

This is the annual sleepers column, but let's be honest: There are no sleepers. There are relievers with great skills who are cheaper than they should be ... and that's what you want anyway.
