Scouting Triple-A: Paul Skenes, Coby Mayo & Owen Cassie

As I anxiously await the start of my in-person coverage this season, I figure I’d visit my least favorite combination to scout professional ballplayers: Triple-A video. 

Why is it my least favorite place to scout ballplayers? There isn’t anything really left to talk about regarding projection. Sure, we can report on adjustments we’re seeing, but unlike the lower levels,  I’m not imagining an upside four to five years from now. The player’s MLB debut is imminent. He’s essentially attending finishing school, prior to his big-league debut, or in some cases, before his big-league re-debut. 

Regardless, let’s look at a few of the newsworthy prospects in Triple-A.
