As we get closer to wrapping up the minor league season, I did some video scouting this week on the Marlins' Jupiter A ball affiliate. I watched Jupiter's series vs. St. Lucie from August 12-16, looking at two of their high 2026 draftees, as well as a breakout arm who has showed promise in his first season in the States.

Jacob Lombard (SS, MIA, 18 years old)

Lombard, the #5 pick of the 2026 draft, looks like a MLB athlete standing in the box right now, at 6’3”, 195 pounds. He will likely gain some muscle with age, but does not need to fill out a lot the way most 18-year-old prospects do.
