Trevor Bauer (RHP, CLE)
In need of a starter in place of the injured Scott Kazmir, the Indians promoted the 22-year-old Bauer who will head back to the minors after a spot start. Bauer was in competition for the fifth and final spot in the rotation, but failed to beat out Kazmir. He was acquired from the Diamondbacks in the offseason and was formerly the #3 overall pick in the ’11 draft. He is athletic and durable and reached the majors quickly due to his deep repertoire. He has trouble commanding the plate at times, though he offers two plus pitches in his 90-96 mph fastball and his curveball. Both pitches can register high strikeout...
