GM's OFFICE: Turning the calendar page

I spent last week on Cape Cod, enjoying a week at the beach with extended family.

Late-summer vacations make for a nice milestone marker. As a kid, my summer vacation always foreshadowed the September back-to-school frenzy. My school days are long since over, but since my wife is a teacher and my kids are in pre-school, our household once again seems to revolve around the school calendar. Now that we're back from vacation, even though school doesn't start for a few weeks yet (thank you, late Labor Day), the end of summer looms and the back-to-school countdown is officially underway.
