GM's OFFICE: Tool hunting at the Futures Game

The Futures Game is the crowning jewel of prospect all-star games. In any given minor league, even the upper levels, the individual leage all-star game rosters are still watered down to some degree. For our fantasy purposes, names like Rusney Castillo, Kevin Quackenbush, and yes, Tim Tebow are barely relevant. But by pulling the many top prospects from all levels of play, the Futures Game has interesting young players up and down the rosters. 

Of course, this year’s affair was in Washington, DC. And like previous years, for those of us evaluators who mostly stay put in one geographical area, it’s always a boon to get an in-person look at top players who toil in other parts of the country.
