GM's OFFICE: Accounting for makeup

As the calendar is about flip past Memorial Day, those long winter nights of draft preparation are easily forgotten. It was just two-plus months ago, when we were at the height of our team-construction strategy, gathering all the information we could to make the most informed decisions on the rosters were were about to assemble. Without real games to watch, we had the extra time to scrutinize, research and pick apart all of the possibilities, holding them together in some coherent container where everything could be weighted and measured with the exactness that would make THIS season—this team—our best one ever.
