PT TOMORROW: NL West - All eyes on Corbin Carroll

During All-Star week, the writers of Playing Time Tomorrow have been charged with identifying one “pivotal” batter and one “pivotal” pitcher for each of the teams in their divisions. Here are my picks for the National League West.  

 

Arizona Diamondbacks

Hitter

Some choices are more difficult than others, and this one is fairly straightforward. Corbin Carroll (OF, ARI) has dealt with a pair of injury scares in the last couple weeks, both involving his shoulder that was surgically repaired in 2021. He’s missed only a combined three games with the issue, and it certainly seems capable of repetition. His fantasy impact is substantial and his impact on the Diamondbacks is incredibly high.
