The Braves closer situation bears watching this spring. Jason Grilli (RHP, ATL) rebounded from a disappointing 2014 with a strong 2015 campaign (24 sv, 2.94 ERA, 12.0 Dom, 2.7 Ctl, 149 BPV in 34 IP) before suffering a ruptured left Achilles tendon on July 11. Arodys Vizcaíno (RHP, ATL) stepped into the void, tallying nine saves and a 1.60 ERA in 34 IP. Who will assume the closer role in 2016?

Grill, 39, told reporters that he had thrown from a mound four times prior to arriving at Braves spring training camp on February 19. Now he will have to make up for some lost time in order to be ready by Opening Day. Given his age and the injury, it’s no lock that he’ll be up to that challenge.
