Heading into the spring, there were questions surrounding Adam Wainwright (RHP, STL) and his ability to continue to rank among the elite starters in the game. In the second half of last season, his Dom dipped to 6.0, and he had a 3.60 xERA. Throw in off-season elbow surgery, and despite his claims to be feeling great, he appeared to be carrying more risk than he had the past couple of seasons.

Now, Wainwright has been diagnosed with an abdominal strain. That's good news, considering the other possibilities, and it's only expected to sideline him for a few days. However, it's an injury that could linger, and perhaps adds more concern heading into 2015.
