PT TOMORROW: AL West—Who's on third?

Oakland Athletics

One name continually being mentioned as a terrific trade-deadline chip for a rebuilding club is Danny Valencia (3B, OAK), and for good reason. The right-handed-hitting Valencia has seemingly shed his lefty-killer/platoon label over the past two seasons by hitting .295 with 17 HR vR over 319 AB. Valencia is having a career year to date, posting an unsustainable .343/.387/.580 line through 143 AB overall. But his power metrics (130/148 PX/xPX), 80% ct% and 135 HctX are going to draw interest from other teams—and another remaining year of club control adds to his attractiveness. With Valencia about to turn 32 years old in September, it would be at least mildly surprising to see him still with OAK at the end of the trade...
