LAA's rotation inexperience and depth problems were initially outlined in this space last month. To recap, none of the projected #3-4-5 Angels starters entering 2014 has ever spent an entire season in an MLB rotation, and none of Garrett Richards, Héctor Santiago or Tyler Skaggs has thrown more than 158 IP in any of the past three seasons. As manager Mike Sciosica acknowledged this past week, he expects to carry 12 and perhaps even 13 pitchers at times during the season, suggesting that he will lean on his relievers for a lot of innings in 2014.
