In theory, at least, problems and underperformance usually create playing time opportunity. Not that it matters all that much fantasy-wise on a team that finished ahead of only DET in 2022 scoring, and that isn't expected to improve significantly in 2023. And through Wednesday April 5, Jesús Aguilar (DH/1B, OAK) and Rule 5 pickup Ryan Noda (1B, OAK) have seen all of the club's 1B AB, with regular LF Seth Brown (1B/OF, OAK) available as an emergency backup option.

A slow start won't endanger veteran Aguilar's roster spot for a while, but Noda (2-for-11 through Tuesday April 4) is a different story. A fine defender with some power, the ability to work a walk and base-running skills, Noda's glaring weakness has always been...
