Even with the power displayed by recent call-ups George Springer and Jon Singleton, the Astros offense still continues to sputter too frequently—a total of five runs over the past four contests entering Monday, and an AL second-worst .233 BA in June, for instance. Recently in this space, we’ve traced some of this struggle to a LF spot where the Alex Presley, Robbie Grossman and Jesus Guzman shuffle is batting near the Mendoza line without providing power or a running game.
