PT TOMORROW: AL East—Rodriguez reborn? Maybe not

Back in December, several of the staff at BaseballHQ came together to take an extended look at the 2015 prospects of Alex Rodriguez (DH, NYY). Now that the season has begun, is there reason to reconsider what, in the final analysis, was a rather bleak assessment?

While it is obviously way too early to draw any definitive conclusions, the early answer appears to be a qualified “maybe.”

For one thing, Rodriguez would seem to have the trust of manager Joe Girardi, who has batted him high in the order (second, third and fourth), though that may speak, too, to the state of the team’s lineup. And Rodriguez did launch his 655th career home run.
