Baltimore Orioles

Perhaps the biggest takeaway from the Orioles’ opening series in Boston may be that the team plans to be aggressive on the basepaths this season.

Baltimore set a major league record by stealing 10 bases in its first two games of the season, sometimes not even drawing a throw from Red Sox catcher Reese McGuire (C, BOS).

The usual suspects — Jorge Mateo (SS, BAL), with four, and Cedric Mullins (OF, BAL), three — led the charge, with the leftovers provided by Adam Frazier (2B, BAL), Austin Hays (OF, BAL) and Ryan McKenna (OF, BAL).

If he continues to get on base (two hits, two walks in 10 plate appearances through three games), Mateo should be able to sustain his playing time, given his strong defense.
