Given the way Luis Severino (RHP, NYY) has burst onto the scene, he should enter the 2016 season with a spot in the Yankees rotation. The skills (3.70 xERA) don’t exactly match the results, but Severino has likely done enough to buy himself some wiggle room to continue to grow into the role.

With health, Masahiro Tanaka (RHP, NYY) and Michael Pineda (RHP, NYY) likewise should be given the ball every fifth day, and as noted by BaseballHQ starting pitching analyst Stephen Nickrand recently, Nathan Eovaldi (RHP, NYY) seems to be showing signs of figuring things out as well.

The questions then would become: Even with his $25 million salary (and $25 million vesting option for 2017), how much patience will the Yankees have...
