PT TOMORROW: AL East — Delayed start to season may shift playing time

While there are clearly far more serious consequences to consider related to the outbreak of the new coronavirus, COVID-19,  our job is to weigh the fantasy baseball implications of the response to the pandemic, which includes a delay of “at least two weeks” to the start of the baseball season.

To say the least, it is awkward to be writing about at-bats or innings pitched shifting, when there are far more serious concerns on our minds. Ideally, maybe reading about such matters provides a diversion as we hunker down and try to do our part to, as the epidemiologists say, “flatten the curve” — a concept that is bad for starting pitchers but essential for infectious disease.
