PT TOMORROW: AL Central—Playing time in the OF

Chicago White Sox

Manager Robin Ventura has not named a starter for left field. The arrival of Adam Eaton (OF, CHW), from Arizona over the winter has created the competition between last year’s center fielder Alejandro De Aza (OF, CHW) and the incumbent Dayan Viciedo (OF, CHW). De Aza hit .264 with 17 HR and 20 SB last year earning $20 in Rotisserie value for the second year in a row. Viciedo failed to repeat his 25 HR 2012, but he was slowed by injury. Either one of these players could be a valuable contributor to a fantasy team, but there is a possibility, according to Ventura, that they could end up in a platoon. This would hurt the value of Viciedo more than De Aza, because he’s the right-handed hitter.
