On multiple occasions in this space, we have mentioned the struggles of second year player Kyle Karros, leading us to predict a tough path to consistent playing time at 3B (see the April 4th and June 6th articles). Our apologies, Mr. Karros.

Since June 1st, the Rockies’ third baseman has played his normal strong defense at the hot corner, but he has also added a hot bat to go with it. In 89 plate appearances, Karros has found a variety of ways to get on base, notching 26 hits (for a .342 BA), 10 walks (11% BB%), and 3 HBP to help him put together a .438 OBP.
