DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: NL West—Trade deadline questions and injury rehabs

The Rockies don't have long to decide whether they are going to be deadline buyers or sellers, but should they decide upon the latter they have a couple of valuable commodities that should net a nice return. Rafael Betancourt (RHP, COL) is an obvious candidate, as he could be a free agent after this season, (has mutual option) and the team has closer-of-the-future Rex Brothers (LHP, COL) waiting in the wings. Brothers has had luck on his side in posting a 0.91 ERA to date, but taking over as the team's closer would provide a significant boost in value in most leagues.

Another possibility is that they could parlay the career year of 34-year-old Michael Cuddyer (OF, COL) into a couple of prospects to strengthen the farm...
