DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: NL West—Dickerson produces, battles for playing time

We touched on the upside of Corey Dickerson (OF, COL) a couple weeks ago, when it looked as it he were to find consistent playing time with Carlos Gonzalez (OF, COL) sidelined. The playing time is still a question, as he only started one of the three games August 11-13 in which both Gonzalez and Michael Cuddyer (OF, COL) were out. The production has certainly been there, though, as Dickerson has hit .400 with two home runs in 45 at-bats since his recall.

The outfield will become crowded when Gonzalez returns. However, he's yet to start swinging a bat, has re-aggravated the finger injury numerous times, and both he and the trainers thought that a couple weeks off wouldn't make it feel any better. So while he's likely to...
