In June, Arizona’s team ERA is 5.42 and the starting rotation has been particularly troublesome. Erstwhile ace Ian Kennedy (RHP, ARI) has scuffled to win three games and his 5.49 ERA is nearly double that of his 21-win season in 2011. Likewise with Wade Miley’s (LHP, ARI) 3.0 Ctl (1.7 in 2012); he was perhaps a bad start or two away from being lifted from the rotation. Only Trevor Cahill (RHP, ARI) seems like his slightly enigmatic self and he’s 3-7. Brandon McCarthy’s (RHP, ARI) 4.02 ERA/4.14 xERA is remarkable in light of his shoulder woes. (Patrick Corbin (LHP, ARI), he of the 9-0, 1.98 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, has been remarkable, period.)
