DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: AL East—Victorino doing "all right"

Boston Red Sox

Injuries have forced switch-hitter Shane Victorino (OF, BOS) this month to begin hitting exclusively from the right side of the plate… and the outfielder is thriving, slashing .313/.421/.469 against RHP as a RHB over 38 ABs. Victorino insists that in 2014 he will be back to switch-hitting, once he can again push off with his left leg with full force. But a look at his recent history shows that if he can keep up the success against RHP as a RHB, he may want to reconsider and make the move permanent:

OPS     As LHB    As RHB*
====    ======    ======
2010     .681       .921
2011     .787      1.032
2012     .629       .906

(*Does not include a total of 21 ABs against RHP as RHB, generally knuckleballers.)

Clearly, even...

Almost!
