DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: AL Central—Beckham back

Gordon Beckham (2B, CHW) has been activated and will return to the starting lineup; Tyler Greene (2B/SS, CHW) was designated for assignment. Beckham hit well during rehab (11 for 32), but did experience some soreness in his surgically repaired hand.

As Beckham returns, both Jeff Keppinger (1B/2B/3B/DH, CHW) and Conor Gillaspie (3B, CHW) will likely see some reduction in playing time. Because both provide more offense than Beckham, who has a .246 lifetime BA with little power and no speed, expect to see manager Robin Ventura work them into the lineup regularly. After a slow start, Keppinger hit .357 (20 for 56) from May 15 through June 2 and raised his average from .177 to .231 while maintaining his typically excellent...
