NEWS: The Mets signed veteran righthander Julio Teheran to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.

BHQ SPIN:  In yesterday’s Playing Time Today note on Tylor Megill, we noted that the Mets had no clear replacement for Megill. It appears the answer, at least for now, is the 33-year old Teheran, who is expected to make his first start for the Mets on Monday, April 8. From 2013 through 2019, Teheran was a dependable member of Atlanta’s rotation, making at least 30 starts every season and consistently getting better results than his skills say he deserved.
