New York Yankees 1B Greg Bird (ankle) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Saturday, May 26. The team also optioned INF Ronald Torreyes to Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.  Source: MLBRosterMoves
 
BHQ take: The Yankees have enough infield flexibility with Gleyber Torres (to cover SS) and Neil Walker (to cover 1B, 2B, and 3B) that they can afford to exercise Torreyes' minor league option to send him to Triple-A. Bird made his 2018 debut on May 26 after late March surgery to remove a bone spur in his right ankle. The LH batting Bird actually has a reverse platoon split...
