NEWS: Texas confirms CF Leody Taveras will open on the IL, but presumed replacement Bubba Thompson may not be filling in after all.

BHQ SPIN: Taveras isn’t expected to miss much time, so this only impacts the very early 2023 season. It’s noteworthy, though, that in the Rangers’ last two preseason tune-ups, usual RF Adolis García got the CF nod, and young UT players Josh Smith and Ezequiel Durán each got a start in LF (with Robbie Grossman moving over to right).
