NEWS: Chicago reinstated RHP Marcus Stroman from the 15-day IL and optioned RHP Daniel Palencia to AAA-Iowa.

BHQ SPIN: After initially landing on the IL on August 1 for right hip inflammation and then suffering a right rib cartilage fracture while sidelined, Stroman returned to Chicago’s active roster on Friday. Stroman skipped a rehab assignment and is not fully stretched out at the moment. According to reports, the right-hander threw about 45 pitches in a three-inning live batting practice on Monday.
