Mets | NYM using strict platoon in left field
New York Mets manager Terry Collins said he is utilizing a strict platoon in left field, with left-handed-hitting OF Michael Conforto playing against right-handed starters and right-handed-hitting OF Juan Lagares facing lefties. 'We're in a situation where we're trying to win games,' Collins said, when asked why Conforto is platooning. 'This is not a time to develop players.'  Source: Newsday - Marc Carig
