NEWS: In a series of roster moves, Chicago placed OF Cody Bellinger (knee) on the 10-day IL, designated 1B/DH Eric Hosmer for assignment, and optioned RHP Keegan Thompson to AAA-Iowa. The team reinstated 2B Nico Hoerner (hamstring) from the 10-day IL, recalled 3B/DH Edwin Ríos from AAA-Iowa, and selected the contract of OF Mike Tauchman from AAA-Iowa.

BHQ SPIN: Chicago essentially swapped one lineup regular with another, as Bellinger has been placed on the IL with a left knee contusion while Hoerner is returning from a hamstring strain.
