Royals | Alex Gordon won't need surgery
Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon (groin) is on crutches but will not need surgery to fix a Grade 2-plus groin strain. He won't take part in baseball activities for several weeks, according to manager Ned Yost. Yost would not say if he thinks Gordon will be back for the regular season. Gordon is expected to be out for eight weeks. He had seven hits, reached base eight times and drove in six runs in the team's doubleheader victories Tuesday, July 7.  Source: ESPN.com
