Indians | Cleveland adds Jay Bruce
New York Mets OF Jay Bruce was acquired by the Cleveland Indians Wednesday, Aug. 9, in exchange for RHP Ryder Ryan.  Source: MLBRosterMoves
 
BHQ take: Bruce will provide a LHB power bat to a CLE OF lacking power. Though Bruce is a RF, he essentially provides a middle-of-order bat as a replacement for LF Michael Brantley, now on the DL with an ankle sprain. Bruce seems likely to play regularly until Brantley returns, then possibly slide into a strong-side platoon role afterward. With 29 HRs, Bruce is on his way to his fifth 30-HR season in the past seven seasons (2011-17)....
